Description

Prunus incisa is a small tree to 9m with oval, sharply toothed leaves that are reddish when unfolding in spring, darkening to green in summer then orange-red in autumn. The pink buds open to white or pale pink and appear in early spring before the leaves. ‘Praecox’ flowers in early winter.

Prunus incisa `Kojou-no-mai` is a shrub or small tree with pale pink flowers in early spring, before the leaves emerge. In the autumn the leaves turn orange/red and it bears dark purple fruit.
